The Fancy Curtain

The Fancy Curtain

When dissatisfaction and impatience arise, we may often find that imagination is at the base of it.  Sometimes we pour the tea before we put the water; or we hold meeting after meeting even though they are tomorrow.  We are so sure that things will play out as we see them, that by the time the things we are waiting on arrive, we no longer feel any connection towards them except for what they will do to allay our sufferings in the absence of expectation.
I find it hard to read and write simply because it is time to read and write, the concept of it all is so excruciating.  But could I wake up one day and find myself reading and writing at my desk, this would be what embodies the goal.  We must know that we are not doing anything, so as to do it genuinely.  Practice makes perfect but what is it we are trying to perfect?  What do we want to reproduce? Once we let our imagination work upon our undertakings, we are allowing fear and agression to take hold of us, because we have built a basis for our shortcomings.  Thus it is so important to see beyond the fancy curtain, to look at what is endless, and to not allow our habitual ways to confirm any longer our disappointments and our intolerances.
